Confirm the rent period and charges
Ask whether the advertised amount is monthly, annual, or for another period. Clarify utilities, deposits, agency charges, furnishings, repairs, and payment dates before you agree.
Inspect services and the handover
Check water, electricity, drainage, phone coverage, access, and the condition of fittings. Record the home’s condition, keys, meter readings, and payments when you move in.
Test the location for your routine
Consider your commute, transport, schools, shops, health services, and how the roads feel at the times you travel. Ask about seasonal access and any local utility interruptions.
Rental terms and rights depend on the agreement and current Ghanaian law. For a specific issue, consult the Rent Control Department or a qualified local adviser.
